A few weeks ago, I made a trip out to Botany Bay Plantation Heritage Preserve on Edisto Island. It is a remarkable place as it is completely preserved, apart from the paths, dirt roads and sign in desk there is no sign of human life. On the beach the only sign of human involvement is the turtle nest caution signs. As you can imagine there was an unbelievable amount of wildlife especially birds. I saw more pelicans that morning than I had ever seen and was very encouraged because I’d heard they were struggling in this area.

There were so many shells dotting the beach but this one was catching the light just perfectly and had very interesting coloring so I grabbed a few images before making my way on to the dead trees that were biding
their time still standing against the relentless waves. Those pics will be coming soon.
