John and I ventured out to Lake Moultrie to capture these incredible cypress trees in the water. The water levels were nice and high and the sun was setting at a great angle to the trees which made for excellent conditions. We got there early and made our way down the dirt road to the gate. It was about 8 foot and had barbed wire on top. I could see where others had jumped over it before so without much hesitation I threw my bag over and jumped up. I turned around and helped John with his bag as he jumped over. Then I noticed that John’s jacket had fallen on the other side of the fence. Sigh, ah well back over again, and then back over again.
We turned and starting walking down the road and immediately noticed a couple on the road directly in front of us. How did they get there????
Then we saw a break in the fence with a path from the parking lot to the road. Ah like a sledgehammer to the forehead. 🙂
Next time we will know.
Walking out to these trees I was filled with peace and wonder and I knew exactly what I wanted to capture. I set about my task and came away with some incredible shots.
