At the last minute this morning I went out to see the sunrise over the sound and was happy to see someone out on the water on a SUP (Stand Up Paddle-board). I tried to get some shots of her as she wound her way up the creek, but the light was not quite right. So I waited for her to frame the sun but she fell off and the current quickly took the board down stream. Paddling after it she reached it and managed to get back to the dock. I proceeded to take some shots including this one while she made her way up the very long dock.

When she got a little closer I recognized her as one of my friends and also noticed that she was limping. My early morning groggy brain didn’t put it all together for a few moments. She had fallen on a oyster bed and was cut up on both feet and knees. Luckily she was wearing a life jacket which protected her torso. I helped her to the house to assess the damages, and get her some towels. Luckily, none of the cuts were too deep and she should be ok.
